What we pay for

Vintage, which we treat as roughly pre-1980, is where deep hobby knowledge matters most, and it's a category we love buying.

We pay premium cash for pre-war tobacco and gum cards (T206, 1933 Goudey, 1934 Diamond Stars, Play Ball), 1948–1956 Bowman and Topps, the iconic 1952 Topps set, and 1950s–70s stars across all sports. Hall-of-Fame rookies and stars anchor most vintage collections and drive the offer, including Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Clemente, Koufax, Robinson, Orr, Chamberlain, and Unitas.

Condition is decisive in vintage: centering, corners, edges, and surface can move a card's value several times over, and even well-loved examples of scarce cards have real worth. We buy vintage in every condition, from beat-up commons in volume to high-grade key cards.

Complete or partial vintage sets, star runs, unopened vintage packs, and original storage (scrapbooks, old albums) are all buys. Vintage is also the category where estate collections most often hide real value, because a shoebox from a parent or grandparent can hold a genuine key card.

Because comps for scarce vintage move less predictably than modern, we price carefully against real recent sales. Send clear photos, front and back, and we'll give you a fair cash offer and drive to you.

Vintage Cards: common questions

What counts as a vintage card?
We treat vintage as roughly pre-1980, meaning pre-war tobacco and gum issues through 1970s Topps and Bowman. If you're unsure whether your cards qualify, send photos and we'll tell you what you have.
My vintage cards are worn. Are they still worth anything?
Often, yes. Scarce vintage cards and Hall-of-Fame stars have real value even in lower grades, and vintage commons have worth in volume. Condition affects the number, but worn doesn't mean worthless.
How do you value a scarce vintage card?
Against real recent sold prices for that card in comparable condition, not book value. Because vintage comps move less predictably, we take extra care to price it right, and we'll explain the number.
Do you buy vintage sets and unopened vintage packs?
Yes. Complete and partial vintage sets, star runs, and unopened vintage packs and boxes are all strong buys. Original albums and scrapbooks are worth sending photos of too.
